Colours from neutral to gold and the graphic use of black and white. Combining colours such as white and pale neutral walls with bold colourful accents in art or soft furnishings was incredibly popular. But more traditionally, the colours mustard yellow, moss green and tangerine orange define the midcentury modern d├ęcor.

Think expensive iconic furniture. Eames, Arne Jacobsen and Corbusier statement chairs. Bar carts filled with liquor and cocktail shakers. Credenzas, simple tripod floor lamps or multiple pendant light shades. Big bold canvases as a wall statement, the main colour in the piece can be used as the accent colour throughout the room, tying the colour scheme together.

Midcentury Magazine Shoot..

Midcentury style (mid 30s to mid 60s) is defined by several important factors. The style gives us clean lines, gentle curves and a passion for different materials.

Masculine and sexy. Functional, sculptural, sleek and uncluttered. Minimal fuss!

Warm wood finishes in teak, rosewood and walnut. Non traditional materials such as vinyl and plywood.
